Register your child for a 15-minute appointment between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m.
Pooches & Pages is a special reading program for kids in first through fifth grade. The children read aloud to registered therapy dogs that are gentle, calm and polite and listen patiently and without judgment. Dogs are carefully selected to ensure a safe and fun experience, and the owner/handlers are library volunteers who love helping children become enthusiastic readers. Reading to dogs builds reading confidence, increases a child’s self-esteem relative to reading, helps a child maintain focus for a longer period of time, helps a child become more confident reading aloud, and increases the motivation to read. Pooches & Pages is held on the second Saturday of the month.
