The Round Goby has been present in the Great Lakes for over 25 years and its distribution has largely been limited to the Great Lakes and their tributaries up to the first barrier. However, the Round Goby was discovered outside of that area for the first time in Wisconsin during the summer of 2015 when multiple specimens were confirmed below the Menasha lock on the Fox River. Join Tim Campbell, an Aquatic Invasive Species Specialist for the University of Wisconsin Extension and Wisconsin Sea Grant, to learn more about the known impacts of this species both in the Great Lakes and other waters, and how we can apply that knowledge to help protect and manage the Lake Winnebago system.
